This shadow report is a collaborative effort of the Close the Gap Steering Committee for Indigenous Health Equality. This report, by the Close the Gap Steering Committee for Indigenous Health Equality, representing a coalition of more than 40 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and other organisations, assesses the Government’s progress towards health equality for Indigenous Australians against the commitments it made in the Statement of Intent. It provides a shadow report to the Prime Minister’s annual report to Parliament on progress in ‘closing the gap’, reflecting the views of stakeholders from Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal health organisations.
