Extract

Oxfam Australia’s submission addresses the three aspects of the Inquiry’s Terms of reference: (1) Economic issues including Trade and investment; (2) Defense cooperation, regional security and strategic issues; and (3) Development assistance co-operation and capacity building. The submission supports the recommendations of ACFID in relation to Aid effectiveness and principles of good donorship as per the Paris Declaration. In addition it draws on our own experience – especially to address the ongoing threat of HIV and AIDS in the countries we work to make recommendations specific to this.
