The overall project goal is to improve access to water and sanitation facilities for communities in George and Chawama compounds in Lusaka leading to reduction in the disease burden through coordinated WASH governance by 2017. Specifically, the project aimed at promoting the right to safe water, environmental sanitation and hygiene of the poor in cholera prone peri- urban compounds in Lusaka. The Mid-Term evaluation was to establish the extent to which the project is fulfilling its intended outcomes and assess whether it is on track in contributing towards the anticipated long term Outcomes. The Review has found that the project has been unanimously accepted by all the stakeholders, particularly the communities and the beneficiaries in the project areas. Where the planned activities were implemented, the effects have been profound on the beneficiaries.
